A Simple & Vibrant Bookshelf Makeover

A Simple & Vibrant Bookshelf Makeover

Local find

Recently I attended a local rummage sale where I found a bookshelf (for $7!) that I instantly wanted to take home with me! It was too large for my little car that is crammed with two giant car seats. A kind woman, helping at the sale, graciously drove it down the street in her SUV to my house. I’m so grateful!

The Best Projects can be Easy

I had a blast with this project. I wanted a place for all the beautiful books that my daughter has been given. The original paint was very busy with fairytale pictures that awfully clashed with the wallpaper in baby H’s room. I added a very simple white paint (two coats) and was extremely happy with the results. It’s ironic because I spend a lot of time painting dull pieces various colors. This project needed the opposite touch.

Floral Nursery

When I was first anticipating the arrival of my baby son, back in 2015, I instantly knew I wanted to do a panda bear theme. It came together so quickly & easily.

With baby girl H,  I was struggling to land on a theme per se. I eventually realized that I gravitated to floral themes on Pinterest. I decided to keep it SIMPLE.

The white painted shelf against the floral wallpaper accent wall seemed like the perfect touch I wanted to put the finishing touches on the room.

  • Oh my! I love this! And I love how you arranged the books by color. My niece taught me to do this, which was contrary to my English-major nature, but now I love the results! ❤️

    • Thanks so much Lynne! I had a lot of fun with this project. I need to show you H’s room in person! Thanks for the encouragement. 🙂
